I am assuming that everything that happens in a theatre is True. But when I went to The Method Gun one of the actors said very quickly something about “based on what might or might not be true” which seemed pretty shifty and disrespectful to the audience who comes in off the street to learn something about how to live our lives going forward. There is just so much falseness in the world (read the paper!) that I cling to the notion that the long theatrical tradition of revealing great truths will be continued with your company. Gosh, just tell me what to believe!

My head spins–surely that’s not what you intended… I paid good money for that ticket!

    beauty or truth
    truth or beauty
    but tis there another
    methinks there is duty
we must do what we will
because we do what we must
    there is no other choice
and that choice we must trust
    so do what you do
and whether truth or now beauty
    do what thou wilt
and thy wilt do thy duty

    peace
